Change is a constant feature of our professional and personal lives, yet many individuals and organisations fail to embrace change as a means of personal and organisational growth.

It is suggested that the failure rate for change management initiatives lies between 44% (The Project Management Institute) and 70% (Harvard Business Review). Whatever the actual failure rate, the cost to organisations is significant in terms of money, time and nugatory work. More importantly these failures reinforce the idea that “change is bad,” and increases resistance to future change.

Unbelievably, 29% of change initiatives are started without any formal structure other than perhaps a prayer to St Jude (the patron saint of lost causes!).
